East Side is guided by her mission statement: to meet people where they are and move them to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
This mission statement consists of two parts.
“To meet people where they are” reflects the purpose of God in sending his son into the world. God sent his son, Jesus Christ, into our world and he met people right where they were. We want to approach people the same way Jesus did.
“And move them to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ” reflects the purpose of God for our lives. God is moving us to become people who are like his son. In our church, what is important to us is not where a person is when they come to our church, but the direction they are moving once they’re here.
